Gas Ducted Heating Service & Repair Bayside Melbourne

Kerri M

Last week our licensed plumber went out to service Kerri’s 30 year old Brivis unit in Bayside Melbourne. Kerri called because the gas burners were not staying lit. It’s not ideal to have a heater that doesn't work with all the cold weather we have had lately.

Our plumber serviced the unit, including checking the Carbon Monoxide levels. This is extremely important as if levels are anything more than 0 it can be extremely dangerous for those living in the house. Make sure to check your heater every 12 months to make sure its safe for you and your family.

During a service our Licensed plumber makes sure to:

  • Clean the burners

  • Clean the pilot

  • Clean the fan

  • Check carbon monoxide levels

  • Cleaned combustion chamber

  • Check the burner pressure

  • Check the Flue

A long list of jobs that are done at every service to make sure your system is working smoothly.

During the service our plumber found that one of the ducts had a rip in it and needed to be replaced. If a duct is ripped it allows heat to escape , making the system work harder to push air through the house. It’s important to get this checked as it can lead to a system overworking and breaking.

As a temporary solution the ducting was patched up and a new part was ordered to fix it. Importantly Kerri’s heater was safe, clean and ready to keep her home warm.
