Vulcan Gas Heating Service, Repair & Replacement Melbourne
Andrea called us a few weeks ago to explain she was having a problem with her Central Gas Ducted Heating unit. The heater was not working and the house was cold. We sent out our licensed plumber to have a look at the system and determine what the problem was and if it could be fixed on the spot.
Our plumber reported that there were problems with the ignition and despite cleaning the burners and igniters, the 17 year old heater was not working. After doing all he could to get the heater to work, he explained to Andrea that she needed to purchase a new system.
In some cases heaters can last for many years, and a way to prolong your heaters life is by getting it serviced every 12 months. The benefits of getting your heater serviced regularly are:
Energy savings. A system that is serviced regularly allows it to run more efficiently and use less energy.
Enhanced air quality
Lower cost to repair in the future
Improved safety
Reliability
Extended lifespan
In Andreas' case, the 17 year old heater had seen better days and needed to be replaced. So within a week we gave Andrea a quote and installed the new system, so that her home was warm and ready for the winters ahead.
Is it time for a new Gas Ducted Heating System?
Some heaters when properly maintained can last up to an impressive 40 years, however due to newer technologies it’s not always the best move to keen an old heater going.
Our client Anne contacted us to have her existing 35 year old gas ducted heating system serviced. Our licensed plumber serviced the gas ducted system to find that everything was running smoothly and there were no carbon monoxide leaks. However due to its age, if there were any problems that arose, repair is not a viable option as the system is too old.
Despite our licensed plumber leaving the site with the heater in working condition, Anne decided that it was time for an upgrade.
We quoted Anne for the new Bonaire 6 star Gas ducted heating system and she gave us the go ahead. We installed the new system and Anne was happy to know that her new bonaire heater will last her for a long time and will substantially reduce her gas bills.
Let us know if you are thinking of upgrading to a newer system!
